Summer in Northern Michigan.
Jaime and I headed out to a private beach on the Old Mission Peninsula in Traverse City for a photo shoot in the sand. Jaime is 19-years-old and working on a zoology degree. She tells me that she wants to work with birds of prey.
Photographing models on the beach comes with a few challenges. Shooting in the direct sunlight on a hot day while being careful not to get sand in your gear makes the shoot interesting. Fortunately I had a beautiful subject to work with.
Jaime is also working on her modeling career. These are her first bikini shots for her portfolio. Something tells me they will not be her last.
Modeling photography is a collaborative effort. I told Jaime to pick a rock. She said, “that one.” I said great, lay on it.
If you’ve never been to the beach on Old Mission Peninsula in Traverse City you owe it to yourself to check it out. The water level is currently at it’s all time lowest level but it’s a beautiful peninsula just the same.
